When Marketing yourself by email...

• Never ever ever send large files (by large I mean >30-50k)
  
  
• If you must send attachments why not use RTF (rich text format)? As the name suggests, it is a text format - therefore it cannot be used to spread...

  ...viruses. [in the last 12 months this is less valid since some macro viruses use the technique of changing the file type to .rtf to disguise it, but it's still really a .doc file]
  
  

• Even better, reformat your details into a text-only format less than 70 characters wide and incorporate it into the body text of an email [this is even more valid than it was before because of the .rtf/.doc cloaking used by some macro viruses]
  
  
• Be a pro-active guerrilla marketer - don't just reply to adverts and get lost in the rush
